Blackpool FC have won promotion to the Premier League!

Wow! What an upset, Blackpool overcame hot favourites Cardiff City 3-2 in the Championship Play-Off to win promotion to the Barclays Premier League. They twice came from behind at Wembley to edge the five-goal thriller to reach the top flight for the first time since 1971. The match was rated as the most valuable in world football worth a guaranteed £90m for the winners. And what was really amazing is that Blackpool became the first side to win promotion through all four divisions via the play-offs. Back in 2001 they were in the Football League’s bottom division. Nine years later a Blackpool team that started the season as relegation favourites were to upset the form books to win promotion after starting as underdogs. This just goes to prove that the underdog can overcome all obstacles and win through with guts, determination and a belief in themselves!!!

Are football players paid too much?

This is the land of the free and home of the brave, and home of one of the world’s greatest free market economy, right? That being the case, I don’t think they are being paid too much. These are the very best in their particular industry, hours upon hours of training to make the team. They’re 11 from millions and millions of players who dream of making a living from football. You have to have a dream and never ever give up on it.

Life Is Tough – So is Soccer!

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Soccer games always have a winner and a loser. one goal can make you the loser. Sometimes the better team has bad luck and loses to a worse team with good luck. Soccer’s not fair. Then again, neither is life. (I can’t remember where I found this – so my apologies for not crediting you!)
